Gourmet escargots - we have evidence
Some critter decided that today was garbage day. Time to rid the nest of all the debris of those Gourmet Escargots.
I have my dog Toby to thank for finding this little scene in our garden, and drawing my attention to it. It seems that we have pretty good help in battling snails and slugs.
Yvonne! What a striking tableau. But I'm wondering about the little hole in the middle—could it be a bolt-hole for escapee escargot? Or maybe Toby just got his nose in there...
Wow that is a RIOT Yvonne!! Good job Toby!!! I'm sure that critter just knew you would be coming to pick up the trash at some point! Smart little buggar!
Never seen anything like that! Any idea what kind of critter would eat snails (oh, sorry escargot of course)and then even put out the trash for pick up? Bon appetit!
Thanks so much for visiting this site. I have a new country garden blog and I will no longer be publishing comments at this blog. If you have a question or comment about the topic here, please use the contact form at my new blog to get in touch with me.

I think it's voles, or some kind of field mouse.
